Robert's Antiques, featuring retro and vintage merch, was founded in 1969 by Robert Sauer. After several local moves, Robert settled back in Historic Phoebus section of Hampton until 2005 when he passed the store down to his daughter Laura Sandford. The now permanent location at 26 E. Mellen St. was built in 1874. The building originally housed the Kaiser Meat Market, which became Kaiser Hardware. For many years Mugler’s Clothing store operated in this location. Laura, Robert’s daughter, and her husband, Jeff, remain the proprietors and are very active in keeping the Phoebus community a safe and beautiful with lots of family friendly events throughout the year.
